MessiYouth soccer jerseys today are becoming as popular in the United States as football and baseball jerseys.

Soccer has been by far the most popular sport in the world for decades. Only recently however, has it seen increased popularity in the United States. Youth soccer jerseys representing national and local teams, and individual players from around the world are now more widely available than ever thanks to the ever increasing world wide popularity of soccer.

When I was growing up all we ever talked about was the New York Yankees and Mets or the NY Giants and Jets (can you tell I’m from NY), and who had the best players or team. Today, I listen to my children (8 yrs old) and their friends talking about who is better; Messi, Beckham or Ronaldinho (I still thnk it’s Pele, but they have no idea who I’m talking about). It just goes to show that in only a few decades not only has the world gotten smaller and more accessible, but it’s actually starting to look a little like a soccer ball.

Adorned with the colors of their National Team and many more with the emblam of their local club, there’s a style that will appeal to everyone. As much as I love the NY Yankees, their traditional pinstripes are relatively boring compared to the colors and patterns of some soccer jerseys.

Additionally, today’s youth soccer jerseys are avaiable in a variety of styles, ranging from the traditional replica game jersey, to the more form fitting performance or champion styles (the name and fit varying by manufacturer). Many of the jerseys, regardless of style, are manufactured with wicking fabric (known as ClimaCool if purchased from Adidas) which keep you both dry and cool regardless of the temperature.

The increased popularity of soccer in the United States has been due in part to the US hosting the World Cup in 1994 and also the phenomenal success of the US Women’s National Soccer Team, winning the 1991 & 1999 Women’s World Cup and Gold Medals at the 1996, 2004 and 2008 Olympics.
